In your holiday accommodation there will be a
holiday guide which will show you all the points of contact you have with
Barrington Holidays during your stay. This includes our office in Sabinillas,
our landline and mobile telephone numbers and our emergency call number. This
means that at any time day or night we are only a phone call away.
2. What do I do when I arrive in Spain and how do
I find my accommodation ?
With your holiday booking confirmation email
you will be given directions of how to get to our office in Sabinillas. This
email will also give you instructions to call your representative when you are
at the airport to confirm that you have landed, collected your hire car and that
you are on your way to our office in Sabinillas. Our representative will then
meet you (anytime of the day or night!) and show you to your accommodation and
make sure that you are settled.
3. What do I do in an emergency ?
Your holiday guide in your accommodation gives
you a list of useful numbers and also emergency contact numbers such as police,
fire brigade and ambulance etc. In the event of an emergency please call the
appropriate number and then call a Barrington Holidays Representative so they
can assist you. If you have any special requirements or you feel that you may
need anything that is not listed in this guide please contact a representative
at the earliest opportunity.
4. What happens if I am not happy with something in my
accommodation?
Your accommodation will be exactly as described
and detailed in this website. If you have any queries or further questions about
the property please ask at the time of booking. If there is something that you
feel is not as you expected please contact a representative immediately. The
earlier a representative is informed the sooner they can respond to your query.
We value as our clients and will do our utmost to ensure that you enjoy your
holiday with us.
5. What is included in the welcome pack?
A welcome pack is supplied in all our
properties to ensure that at whatever time you arrive you can have a snack to
eat and a drink. The welcome pack includes tea, coffee, milk, bread, butter,
jam, eggs, water, beer and wine. Contents of the welcome pack may vary slightly
and unfortunately we are not able to accept ay requests to alter the contents of
this pack. In the cupboard there may also
be sugar, salt, pepper, flour, oil, vinegar and a selection of sauces etc - if
you finish something that is in the cupboard we request that you please replace
it ... it isn't the cost but convenience for the next guests.
6. I want something that isn't included in Barrington Holidays
services. What do I do ?
Barrington Holidays offer a comprehensive list
of services including airport transfers, car hire, golf course bookings and
excursions. If there is something that you would like to do on your holiday that
is not included in these services please contact us on
info@barringtonholidays.com
although we cannot guarantee to provide these services we can
certainly try to help you the best we can !
7. What do I do at the end of my stay?
On your day of departure you are free
to leave your accommodation at whatever time suits you unless previously
advised by one of our representatives. It is essential that you check
that you have taken all your belongings and secure the accommodation as
you leave. You must then return all keys to the Barrington Holidays
office and put them in the post box if it is outside of our opening
hours.
Although not essential some of our
clients prefer to put all dirty laundry in central location and put any
dirty cutlery and crockery in the dishwasher. This is entirely at the
discretion of the client and by no means compulsory.
8. Is the price quoted for the whole property or per person
and is there anything extra to pay?
The prices quoted
are for the whole property NOT per person. There is nothing
extra to pay (except for flights and any travel to and from
your accommodation). The price includes linen,
towels, all utilities and any local taxes.
9. Which is the nearest airport?
The beauty of visiting Puerto Duquesa is that
it can be easily accessed by 3 major airports. The closest of this is Gibraltar
which is only 25 minutes away. Malaga is only 50 minutes away and offers several
low cost flight options. Jerez is approximately 1h 30 minutes away and although
it is the furthest of the 3 choices flights can be very cheap. For further
assistance in booking your flights please view our
flights and travel
page.
10. Are the properties suitable for children?
All our holiday properties are owned by
private owners and as such are not specifically dedicated to being child
friendly more than any other property. Some apartments may also be on a
upper level. If you are concerned about the child safety aspects of any
of our holiday accommodation please contact us at the time of booking
your property. However the majority of our resorts are gated, have 24
hour security and lifeguards during the summer months. Puerto Duquesa is
also a very safe and family friendly resort and perfect for a family
holiday.
11. Are the properties suitable for
disabled people?
We do not promote any of our properties as
being disabled friendly as the Spanish laws are not the same as UK laws and we
would not want to mislead any of our clients. However some properties do lend
themselves to disabled use. If this is something that would be an important
consideration when booking your holiday please contact a representative before
booking your holiday. We will then be able to suggest the most appropriate
accommodation to suit your needs.
12. Is there a maid service or are the
properties cleaned at all during our stay?
All our holiday rental accommodation is self
catering and as such the properties are cleaned before and after your holiday
and linen provided before you arrive only. If you require a maid service
or a mid-stay clean there will be an additional charge for this service and it
must be requested at the time of booking.
13. Do I need to bring a Hair Dryer, Iron,
Towels etc?
All items in your property are detailed in the property description
page. Anything in addition to this list cannot be provided by Barrington
Holidays. We do not provide beach or pool towels.
14. Can you organise flights for me?
Sorry, we are unable to help you in booking
your flights. However please view our
flights and travel page which provides lots of
useful suggestions.
15. Is there a discount for longer lets?
If you would like to enjoy an extended stay in
one of our holiday accommodation properties we may be able to offer you a
discount. Please ask a representative at the time of booking.
16. Is there a telephone or internet
connection in the property?
None of our properties have either phone or
internet connection. There are internet cafes both in Puerto Duquesa and
Sabinillas. If this would be an important requirement during your holiday please
contact your representative who can direct you to the nearest internet cafe. We
strongly advise that all guests bring a mobile phone with them incase of
emergencies. For visitors from America a tri-band phone must be used.
17. Can the changeover day and length of stay be varied?
We
offer any changeover day at our holiday accommodation
and any duration (minimum 3 nights). Prices are calculated
on a pro rata basis and an additional charge of 50€ is applicable for
stays of 6 nights or less.
18. Are the properties heated in the winter?
All properties
that are described as having air conditioning have both hot and cold air
conditioning and therefore heat the properties in the winter as well. If there
is no air conditioning heaters will be provided in the properties.
In some
properties there is also a log fire. Logs for fireplaces are not provided but
may be purchased locally at an extra cost.
19. What TV channels can I receive?
Where we state
that a property has Satellite TV. you can expect to receive
a limited selection of free to air English speaking channels only which will
include BBC1, BBC2, ITV and CH4 and additional free to air channels. The movies
and sports channels will not be available. Reception is not as good as in the UK
as Spain is on the edge of the satellite 'footprint'. During times of bad
weather the television satellite reception will be affected.
20. Are pools in commission all year & are they heated?
Most pools are maintained and in commission all year round.
However as the resorts have independent rules we cannot guarantee the use of the
pool in the low season.
We cannot be held responsible if a pool is not in commission
due to circumstances beyond our control or due to the
community regulations. For any concerns regarding this please ask at the time of
booking.
21. Can I book a high chair or a cot?
Both high chairs and cots can be reserved for
you at an additional charge of 30€ and 15€ per week respectively. Due to limited
availability these must be requested at the time of booking.
22. Can Barrington Holidays book excursions for
me and my family?
Yes ! We can book excursions for you and your
family. Please look on our
excursions page for more details.
23. How do I pay for my holiday?

booking in full. Your booking will not be confirmed until payment is
received. The paypal system is used for all holiday payments and you
will be sent a payment instruction for this. Payments are to be made in
Euros only. Your credit card details will also be taken at the time of
